Bell'O 8170DB Tilt-Pan Art Arm Mount 12-52-Inch LCD (Black) Review

This product is titled "for dummies" and having bought 2 of these I am now certain I qualify. It is supposedly suitable for TV's up to 42 inches and c80lbs in weight. I bought 2 (based on Amazon recommendation) for my new 42 inch Toshiba TV's.
I am a structural engineer and have completed many home improvemnt products so I think I know the right tool for the job when I see it - upon opening the box I instinctively thought "this looks too small and unstable for a large TV" but decided to give benefit of the doubt and try it anyway.
The 2 small lag screws provided to fix the device to a single stud looked way too small for me so I added an additional batten behind the wall and installed 5.5 inch through bolts instead. The instructions are pretty poor - I think anyone unused to such projects would be confused and not figure out why so many surplus screws, bolts, washers and shims are provided (I am still not sure myself!). However I found what I needed, put the thing together and mounted the tv.
Instantly I was unhappy with the way that the tv wobbles around the single support axis, and how, despite the fact that the support was put in perfectly level, the TV sits at a drunken angle against the wall (the support is simply not stiff enough to counter any slight eccentricity in the weight of the TV).
My greatest frustration however was how easy it was to strip the threads on the adjusting nuts (I managed to do this to at least one without really trying) and also how the sockets in the nuts for the supplied allen key adjusting wrench can (and were) easily rounded off during the process of trying to turn them at an awkward angle behind the tv.
I now have a listing TV attached to a support which I can no longer properly adjust and which gives me little comfort that it can support the c75lbs my TV weighs in the long term. Despite the installation of through bolts all this load applied to a very small area causes the wall to creak and flex alarmingly every time I move the TV!
I have returned the second device without even attempting to use it and cant wait to replace the one I did use with something more suitable for the job.
In summary, may be an economical option for small TV's but not very robust or well made and certainly not man enough for the range of sizes claimed by the manufacturers.
I intend to go with my original gut feel and go with something much sturdier that will spread load across 2 studs.

Epson PowerLite S1+ Multimedia LCD Video Projector Review

When searching for a projector I had the following criteria which the Epson S1+ met.
Low Cost - Best price I found - Amazon - 749.00
Low Noise - Epson S1+ is 33dB
Minimum 800x600 Resolution
Native 4:3 Aspect Ratio
High ANSI Lumens - Epson S1+ is 1400
Decent Contrast Ratio - Epson S1+ is 400:1
Low Cost Bulb replacement ($150-$200)
For the cost, there was no other projector on the market that could compete. I did not want the lower end DLP projectors, due to rainbow effects that can happen. I also wanted a projector that would be cost effective after the initial purchase. The S1+ bulbs can be found for $150.00 to $200.00, compared to $350-$400 for competitors. BTW: This unit will be used in a small church for Sunday services and cost was a big factor when investing and researching bulb replacement costs.
How does it work?
We get a great image for our church service with full house lights on, this projector is brilliant. Very, low noise. Most of the time it is used with PowerPoint presentations, but it also does a great job with DVD projection.
Image Size?
This unit projects a BIG image from a short distance, if you need a large picture, but do not have the space...this may be the projector for you.
Quality?
I am really impressed with the fit, finish and quality of the Epson projector and will be purchasing the Powerlite Home 10+ for my home theater.
How does it compare?
I have an Infocus X2 and and NEC VT470 projector and I would take the Epson S1+ over either one of these any day.

With a footprint of just 14.6 by 10.4 inches, the S1+ sets up on nearly any convenient surface and weighs just 7 pounds, making transportation painless. An SVGA native resolution of 800 x 600 ensures that projected images retain their clarity even at great distances, while 24-bit color support of over 16.7 million shades results in accurate, true-to-life images.

I researched the purchase of this TV for over six months- far more than I ever researched even a vehicle purchase. I've had it for approx 2 weeks now and am very impressed. I was originally planning to purchase the 44in model but eventually changed my mind and purchased the 52 in model.
The only feature I was worried about not having was the 120 hz. I went to an electronics store and viewed both 60 and 120 hz side by side and could not tell the difference- the 60 hz is plenty fast for me.
Many people complained about the sound quality of last year's model. Unfortunately I have no pertinent information to add here as I am utilizing a surround sound system.
You will not regret purchasing this TV

Coby TFDVD2697 26-Inch 720p Widescreen LCD HDTV/Monitor with DVD Player and HDMI Input (Black) Review

I was very eager to receive this TV/DVD because it was one of the only ones to fit my requirements in terms of space, tv/dvd combo and price. It arrived in good shape but since the frame is plastic there were two major impressions where the styrofoam packing braces (designed to hold it securely in the box) dented the frame. Nevertheless, after spending some time (2 hours) trying to understand all the directions for assemblying the few parts, I called the company to disccover that there was a step missing--the process of scanning in the channels before being able to receive the signal. The techie was helpful and walked me through the steps. (I think it would help to have a sheet of simple steps that will take you directly through the whole process from plug in to usage.) I was happy enough with the clarity and brightness of the TV picture and the sound was quite good. However, when I tried to play dvd's--I tried 4--I couldn't get the dvd player (attached) to work. It said "Read" but never showed the picture instead claiming "No Disc" when clearly it had claimed it had read the data. I had trouble retrieving the disc--which after 7 or 8 tries on the "open" option (hidden in the directions) finally was ejected. It would help to use the word "EJECT" rather than "open/close" since there is no indication as to what those words actually refer to. I was very disappointed that the dvd component did not work since it meant sending back the whole unit.
Maybe I just got a lemon. I called the Coby company for the second time in three days and they told me to return it which I will do as I purchased it from Amazon. Very disappointing but maybe I will try to get another one--It is certainly not worth the original price of $500+ but may be worth $350.
Anyone out there have a good experience with this model?

Sony BRAVIA KDL-32EX301 32" LCD TV Review

First, let me say that I am a big fan of Sony products. Our main TV is a 55" Sony KDFE55A20 that has the best HD picture I have ever seen - from any viewing angle. Second, I have a background in broadcasting and photography, so I am very, very picky about TV picture quality.
I saw this set go on sale at my local Costco and purchased it immediately. After the initial setup I tuned to a 24 hour news station, and did not like the look of the skin tones and other colors. The faces looked a bit washed out, pasty, and slightly cartoonish - and a real disappointment from my 55" Sony.
I went online and read many review of other LCD TVs. The general consensus was that LCD screens can look a bit washed out when viewed from side angles.
I spent two days playing with the picture controls and got the images to look, well, OK, but still disappointing, compared with my 55".
So, I went back to Costco and spent a LOT of time comparing the display Sony to the other 32" TVs there, and particularly liked the Panasonic (TC-32LX24). I watched both TVs side by side as they cycled through various programming, and the Panasonic seemed to produce better flesh tones. In particular, when the Sony was viewed from the side, the colors faded, but when the Panasonic was viewed from an angle, the colors remained clear. The Panasonic says on the box that it is designed so as to produce a viewing angle of 178 degrees.
So, I purchased the Panasonic and set it up, then turned it on, ran through the initial setup, and right out of the box the flesh tones were fantastic, the other colors were great, the image was sharp and had great contrast, and it looked perfect from any side angle - there was no washout effect when viewed from almost a 180 degree side angle!
I was really, really stunned. This "out of the box" picture wasn't just a bit better than the Sony picture that I had been working on for 2 days, but was MUCH better.
The Sony TV was a bit better looking, the stand was easier to set up, the on screen menus were a bit classier and easier to use, and yet the picture was a disappointment.
I would rate the Sony picture as OK, but disappointing, and the Panasonic picture as fantastic, when viewing the same picture source.
I also compared both viewing a DVD - same result - the Panasonic blew the Sony out of the room.
Also, the Sony speakers sounded cheap - the Panasonic speakers sounded better - fuller.
As I said initially, I am a big Sony fan and have always thought their TVs produced the top of the line pictures, but no more.
If you have not yet purchased a TV, I suggest you go to a store and view both side by side, then look at them from a side angle. You will see that the Sony picture washes out and the Panasonic picture stays sharp and clear.
I returned the Sony to my local store and am really enjoying the Panasonic.

VIZIO M260VA 26-Inch Class RazorLED 720p LCD HDTV, Black Review

I bought this Vizio because I needed a decent sized tv that was relatively cheap but would also fit into a dorm room. The picture quality is excellent and the difference between this tv's 720p and other 1080p is negligible. At first colors looked a little washed out on my 360 but after fiddling with the tv/xbox settings it now looks superb. The size of the tv is also nice...it is lightweight and is super slim. The only thing that could be improved on is the speakers which imo are still a lot better than most tv's in this price range/size. It sounds a little hollow and could use more bass but overall it isn't too bad (it helps to turn off srs surround and switch to rock equalizer). Volume also isn't too big of an issue with this tv like on other tv's since this has front facing speakers as opposed to rear speakers. There is also very little lag or ghosting at 8ms and 60ghz refresh rates. Highly recommended if you are looking for a tv that is cost efficient and has good picture quality.

Excellent mount, especially for the dollars. I was looking for a versatile mount that would extend far from the wall. I was planning to get a 24 to 28inch TV weighing around 20 lbs or so. I anticipated this mount should easily hold this size TV and I was right. I can't answer if the mount would hold a 55lb TV but it is a lot more sturdy than I needed for my TV. I wanted a mount that could mount to either a 200mmx200mm or 400mmx400mm pattern and this one could do both. My Viewsonic 24" TV had the 200x200 and the extra size mount didn't stick up or get in the way of my connections. Very sturdy and compact with a 20" extension. I put in the lags making sure the mount was plumb but the TV mount (not the part attached to the lags - that is fixed once you attach it to the wall) was easy to adjust if the monitor is out of plumb/level. I received the mount in 3 days with regular shipping and I couldn't be more satisfied.

Samsung UN26C4000 26-Inch 720p 60 Hz LED HDTV (Black) Review

I was a little worried about ordering this TV because it was a brand new model (March 2010) and the only review that I could find was a negative one. The tv just arrived today. I was quite pleased with the tv. The picture is vivid and the sound is excellent for such a thin tv. I purchased the tv for my home office and upgraded from an older 23" Samsung tv which actually took up more space due to its side mounted speakers. If you are looking for a 26" tv, I feel that it was worth the extra $$$ to get this LED model. This was my first LED tv. The picture is great and it only uses 40 watts of electricity. My old 23" Samsung used 100 watts. I hooked up the coaxial cable wire to the tv directly and it found all of the analog and digital channels within a few minutes on auto mode. I also hooked up my PS3 via HDMI and it worked right away (The other reviewer wrote about his HDMI cable not producing sound.- Possibly he was using a defective HDMI cable or he had an audio output setting set incorrectly on the device that was connected to the tv...... because the HDMI output works fine on this tv). The only negative is that the tv display is 720p/1080i. The tv does not have 1080p but in all honesty on a tv less than 40" you really don't need 1080p. Final verdict- Pricey but worth it.... if this is the size you're looking for. I only wish that I had room for the 32" model. Don't just take my word for it....the tv keeps selling out on Amazon as soon as it comes back in stock.

Great bang for your buck!!! Picture is amazing, very slim, just the sound quality is just a lil disappointing. My 13" tube tv I had before sounded way better. I quess being the speakers are on the rear make is sound different. I replaced it to have more counter space in my kitchen but just seems that the tv I had before sounded way better. Over all I still love this tv but if sound quality is very important to you reserch in store first!

I am the first one to admit that I love my toys, and while I have mellowed in my old age, I have owned a lot of audio and visual equipment over the years. Let me begin by saying that this TV is only four and a half months old! Major technical issues have arisen in which the TV makes horrible noises and shuts itself off. I looked around online and found lots of other people have had the same problem as well. Then you have to call their technical support, which is just a great way to kill some time before they come back and tell you to take it to a local service center, and that labor is coming out of your pocket. They will however let you know "how sorry they are to hear that," about 7 or 8 times. Not a great product, poor service, not super cheap either. Try another brand, especially if you are going to spend this kind of money.

Style (slim) has it's side effects/price!
Do not expect your install team to get this right the first time
1) MOUNTING:
Though the C9000 TV does not look that heavy, this sleek wall mount is heavy! When the studs behind the wall are not within a certain range the mout can not be centered over fire place etc.
Solution: DOWNLOAD the install-guide first and find out if it fits. Also by drilling an additional whole into the mount (needs special drill bit) it then can match your studs vs. you changing the studs.
2) Given the slim design running the cables (HDMI, power) along the mount needs some experience (cable length when TV-mount is 100% pulled out is a problem when put back flat against the wall)
3) USAGE: To use the mount, i.e. move the TV in/out, one needs to touch the TV's frame (as handle) = fingerprints on the polished frame
We solved the above before the instal team arrived and love it, mainly because we can re-direct the screen away from any reflections (of lamps/windows etc. in the room).

This Panasonic 32" lcd hdtv was advertised as new and that it was. It arrived shortly after I ordered in execellent condition, even though it could have been packaged a little better. The features are better than I expected with high definition on a number of channels that are automatic. I read all the reviews on this television and decided this was the best one could buy. It is a lot better than my Akai television that lasted all of three years.

RCA BRC3109 10-Inch Portable Blu-Ray DVD Player Review

First off: If you are only going to use this player as a portable device and never hook it up to an external TV, then it works pretty well.
My needs: I work for a company that is selling an audio device and we want a small Blu-ray player for demos. The RCA was purchased to use at customer sites so we didn't have to call ahead and check to see if they had a HDMI-capable display. For comparison, we have the Panasonic DMP-B500 which works very well, but it is twice the cost. We also have about a dozen different standard non-portable Blu-ray players we use.
Firmware used: 2.0.7428 (latest as of this review)
Issues:
- Does not play BD-R discs. Some of our test material is on BD-R, so this is an issue. For a home user, if you ever want to play back HD home movies, this is not the player for you.
- Huge lip-sync problem when using HDMI output. When playing back movies that have audio encoded in Dolby Digital or Dolby TrueHD over the HDMI output, there is a large delay between the video and audio. This one issue makes this product unusable for our needs. DTS Master Audio and LPCM content seem to be fine. Also, if you are just using the internal screen, it is fine. This is only an issue when you use the HDMI port. So, if you ever consider plugging this into a TV, you may want to reconsider.
- Does not "bit-stream" HD audio over HDMI. Almost all Blu-ray players have a menu option to allow you to either stream the original high-resolution audio (like Dolby TrueHD or DTS Master Audio) over HDMI, or have it down-converted into a simpler format (TrueHD --> Dolby Digital or Master Audio --> DTS). This player does not have that option and only sends the lower-grade down-converted audio over HDMI. So, if you have a sound system that is capable of these latest codecs, this player wont let you use them.
Conclusion:
If you just want to play Disney Blu-rays for the kids in the back seat, this gets it done. If you want to have a flexible solution that can be a portable player and work in the home theater, the only option is the twice-the-price Panasonic.
Other: Amazon seems to be showing the picture for the BRC3108, not the BRC3109.

Vantage Point AXFL01SLCD Flat Wall Mount - Silver Review

I used this product to mount a 19" LCD on a wall. Overall, it does the basic job of any VESA wall mount. It's not a low-profile mount -- it'll stick out of the wall by over an inch. But it does feature a nice 7-degree tilt option (in case you want the monitor to tilt downwards.
Two key things to note. 1) The biggest part of the mount, the square that screws into the monitor, is actually plastic. I'm not kidding. In the photo, it looks metal; they've even finished it with a metallic sheen finish, but it's plastic. I don't plan to do anything heavy-duty with the mount, but if you're expecting high-quality for the good money you're paying, look elsewhere. 2) In the mounting instructions, they suggest drilling pilot holes that are _far too small_ for what the mounting screws actually need. Bump up your drill bits to around 1/4" to get the job done.
If this was about a fourth the price, I'd say it was a good deal. As it stands, it's an expensive way to get the job done.

Seiki LC40G81 40" 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV Review

Well, let me start off with the bad.
Day 1 and I had a dead pixel... I'm currently in the process of returning/maybe exchanging it for a new one. I'm not sure if I want to test my luck with another dead pixel and getting it shipped again. The volume at 1 is still pretty loud compared to other tv's, there's no option for game mode, and you have to keep changing video settings between what you want for a movie, and for video games. The av/cable/hdmi cables are in an odd spot and hard to get to without having to turn the tv around. The remote sensor is sensitive, and you almost have to point it exactly in one spot for it to register. The video/audio settings are also quite limited, and don't have my options for you to save your presets, and it doesn't have many options for you in the first place.
The good, well the tv is big and cheap for its size (shipping and handling adds another 100$ to the price, which i wasn't exactly expecting that much, but it's ok). The screen itself looks pretty good, and on regular SD cable tv, the tv doesn't look too bad, it looks like normal tv, nothing special. The 120hz refresh rate is a good perk, but only is really effective in bluray movies, and maybe some games (i'd always have it turned off when i play video games though, it adds a "ghost" like image behind, and can get really annoying). The 3 hdmi cables is nice, even though I'd probably only use 2 at once, but 3 is good for future proofing. USB is always great. My xbox looks pretty nice on it, but I only used it for a couple of hours before noticing the dead pixel, and then called AIT Logistics to return/exchange.
By the way, CircuitCity (who sells this on amazon, and other websites uses AIT to ship their products) was pretty good about shipping, and AIT called and set up an appointment to deliver the TV, which was on time.
Overall, it's not a bad TV, I just got a defective product with a dead pixel. If you're looking for a cheap HDTV that has all the perks of a TV double the price, then this is for you. The 120Hz isn't really needed yet, but in the future I see it becoming more popular.

3M Pocket Projector MP180 Review

I purchased one of these projectors from 3M because they had it available before Amazon. Buyer beware...the engineering behind this is terrible. The screen is designed in such a way that you must use a plastic stylus pen. The bluetooth does not work or support the Apple iphone4, you cannot enter in a 128 bit encryption code for the wifi because the field will not allow enough digits to be entered. The MP180 will not play movies in MPEG4 format greater then 15 MB off of the micro-sdcard especially if you store multiple movies on the device. The OS is so bad that the video plays ahead of the sound. The browser functionality is terrible...when you do have a wifi connection there is no way to control the pointer, and the keypad on the device is useless. 3m needs to recall these devices and rewrite the OS, Here is a hint 3M try testing your products before releasing them to the public or 3M you will continue to get posts like this one.

the tv works good outdoors, dont expect it to work indoors. not 100% as on picture, it has black buttons, and the antenna is too thin and fragile so it can break easily. description says: *Full Function Remote Control...it does not come with any remote control. *AC/DC operated for complete portability: means you'll receive an AC adaptor (indoor use)and a DC adaptor which must be a car charger. it does not come with a car charger, so how is it a complete portability?
other thing, there is no charging indicator, just guess the battery is full. and to listen to the FM stations you must plug in the earpiece, even though the tv has a built in speaker and an antenna.

Emerson LC195EM9 LC195EM9 19 720p LCD TV Review

I got this for Christmas in 2008 (i think). Have had SD signal programming coming through since I got it, and it sounds and looks fine. I have my Xbox 360 plugged in running at 720P, doesn't look too bad, not fantastic, but not bad HD.
Only problem is that it seems that the pixels are slowly dying away, only a few a year, but its not noticeable from a distance.
Other than that its a pretty standard TV, nothing fantastic, but it gets the job done.

Toshiba 19AV600U 19-Inch 720p Portable LCD HDTV, Black Review

I compared the picture quality of the Toshiba 19AV600U side by side with Samsung (at our local Best Buy) after tweaking both to their maximum quality and the Toshiba had truer colors with accurate flesh tones, probably due to the 10 bit color. The sound was also much better (and louder) than other TV's of the same size. If you can live without the headphone jack, then this will be a great choice, especially for a small bedroom or kitchen.
One more thing that impressed me and my daughter was how the TV cleaned up the standard analog cable channels, apparently due to the noise reduction feature, which we put on high. Some of the channels even look as good as digital or HD. The 19AV600U also has (2) HDMI jacks and is a great looking little TV even when it's off. We mostly buy SONY but was settling for Samsung (since Sony is not that impressive in this size range) until I ran across this little jewel.

I purchased this lamp as a replacement for my dad's Samsung DLP TV. The old one was 5 years old, and while it still worked, this new lamp restored the brightness and picture quality to "like new" condition.
Don't wait until your old lamp fails, as that may "stress out" your ballast and cause it to fail. As the lamp ages, it becomes harder and harder for the ballast to maintain the arc within the lamp. Besides, you'll really appreciate the difference in brightness with a fresh new lamp!

I replaced a recently damaged Samsung UN46C8000 LED TV and a low profile wall mount with a brand new Panasonic TC-P50VT25 but the connections on back of the Panasonic made it impossible to use the low profile mount. This mount was easy to swap out with the previous and took less than 30 minutes to swap out. It worked perfectly with the new TV.

I wanted to be able to use my VCR with my computer monitor.
Thanks to this device, I can.
My VCR transmits component-video; a single RCA cord outputs the VCR's video.
I compared the VCR's picture on my computer monitor using this device to that on my 2001 TV set (plugged in directly) by going back-and-forth with a minute of video at a time, and the picture was similar.
Now I can bring my TV set to Best Buy for recycling.
To use the device to watch a VCR with component-video-out on a computer monitor, plug in the VCR on one side of the device, and plug in the monitor on another side of the device. Press the buttons on the device.
The device needs electrical power. I plugged it into my computer's USB 2.0 port.

We had this put together and mounted on a brick wall in just over an hour. We hung a couple of bags of book on it for a couple of hours then mounted the TV. I am still playing with the rotation and lock out controls and have found that they do take some practice to master. I am happy with how sturdy the mount is and it make the tv and room look amazing.

LG 55LE5500 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED Plus LCD HDTV Review

I had been eyeing the LED market for a year in preparation to replace by HD Projection TV I bought back in 2003. Samsung was first on my list, but after some independent reviews (CNET, Consumer Reports), I decided to go with LG. This unit has all the bells and whistles at a competitive price point ($1,800 at the time of purchase) and the LG brand is gaining a good reputation.
I was concerned about damage during delivery after reading the only other post on Amazon at the time I ordered, but the unit came in a timely manner and the person delivering insisted on opening the box and looking the unit over before requesting my acceptance. While I can see how the stand could possibly damage the front of the TV if significant force was put on the front of the box, my delivery had no issues.
Granted, I had not formally seen the display on this specific model when I purchased it. I had seen the 55LE5400 in local stores, but the 55LE5500 was purchased sight unseen. I could not be more thrilled with what I got. I have the TV in a large room with lots of Florida sunlight. A minor tilt of the TV on the wall unit and I have no significant glare. The image displayed on the screen is great. High Def channels are pristine. Low Def channels, while they do show some blocky edges at times, are more than adequate. (The only Low Def channel we need if for some children's shows and the quality is more than enough for my 2 year old.)
There are plenty of display controls to fine tune the screen for your room. The widgets are nice, but I wouldn't consider them a reason to pick this unit over another. 240Hz was one aspect I thought I wanted, but the TruMotion 120Hz on this unit has kept up with any fast panning motions displayed. The Clear Voice aspect has been great for late night TV watching when you want to hear the dialog, but don't need the booming car crashes to wake up the sleeping family. Overall I am thrilled with my purchase. I can clearly see the benefit of LED and LG has delivered on its promises. I would recommend this TV without hesitation.

We were not planning on buying another TV any time soon.
2 years ago we purchased a 42inch Sony flat screen TV, was over $1300 on sale when we purchased it.
Its a nice TV and we really enjoy it in our living room. But when we saw this Sansui TV on sale at a local store for under $400 we had to pick it up for an additional TV in our computer room to replace an older tube TV.
The picture is very clear. The sound is actually better than our Sony.
The remote control is very easy to understand and work, and the channels come up very fast. There doesnt seem to be a delay.
Its hard to tell in the picture of the but the bottom of the TV is actually silver, I like it, but if you are looking for an all black TV this wont work.

Bought the Sanus LT25 mounting rack for my recently purchased 46" Sony-Z.
Best Buy selling same rack for $225+ tax. I paid $109 with free shipping and zero sales tax. Fast delivery and it arrived in excellent condition. I like all the adjustments. It was easy to install on my masonary fireplace. Drilled six 1/2" holes, inserted the provided anchors, laid mounting bracket over holes installed the six provided lag bolts. Installed the other part of the mounting bracket with the four provided bolts to the back of the TV in the provided threaded holes. They sent a bag with several size bolts and spacers. So you will not have to purchase any bolts to mount the bracket to the back of the TV. If you mount this rack to the studs behind your dry wall you can use the same six anchors. Max install time 10 minutes. Theres nothing I need to know before I bought this.

Purchased a Mac Mini. Needed a DVI cable.
My only local choices were Radio Shack and Circuit City.
RS had only one choice, a $105 dollar Monster Cable (6'). Pass
CC had only once option, a Belkin for $70. Bought, knowing that I wanted a cable immediately, but also figuring I'd find a cheaper one online. And find it I did, in less than 90 seconds.
Looking at my display (a ViewSonic N3200W 32" LCD TV/Monitor), I cannot tell the difference between the two. So.. Returned the $70 cable and am very happy paying only 15% as much, even including shipping (The cable came 2 days later, even without "expedited shipping").
So.. Great cable at a great price.

You must mount to wall studs to hold the weight of the TV. Keeping the TV at a horizontal position is a challenge. The TV tips down due to weight. My screws will not tighten enough to hold the TV horizontally straight. I like it anyway.

Bell'O ultra low profile mount would be just what you need for your tv. I installed a 46" Sony led tv with no problem by my self. The kit comes complete with easy to follow instructions in many languages and all sorts of screws so it's sure to fit your tv dimensions. The mount itself is very good quality, strong and with good shiny appearance. It is super thin which looks awesome but you will have trouble fitting the cables with that. They will touch the wall. If you can get around that it would be a perfect mount for you. I bought 90 degree HDMI connections to solve that problem. I would certainly recommend this product to my friends and family. And it I'd also a much better deal that other tv mounts of even less quality and features.

Overall this 9 inch portable tv is just ok. Picture is average & sound is way below average (you'll need external speakers). It's pretty good looking tv as it's relatively thin and feels sturdy. Two big cons - Cannot turn off unit with remote (there's a small heard to reach switch on left panel of tv) & I find the screen too glossy (lots of glare). All in all, average tv but good value.

On special occasions you might even take it to the office. The new HiRez9 reflects a lot of the traits of its previously announced Tivax portable digital brothers, except it is noticeably larger and just a mite slimmer. Gives it that extra sleek look. Of course, the 720X480 digital panel does give the HiRez9 a crisp sharp display that is the envy of the so-called competition. Amazing what a little larger screen will do for enhancing one's natural beauty and bringing out that little something extra!!

This is a great mount. Very solid build, top notch hardware, and excellent instructions.
As another reviewer mentioned, wall clearance is something critical to consider. There's cutouts in the mount to allow for installation of up to two single-gang wall plates, but the back of the TV will still be very close to the wall, especially on full tilt. If you're using in-wall wiring or have many cables connecting to your TV, you may want to consider using a recessed wall box to facilitate your cables.

First, this is a combo review of both the actual glasses and several games I've played extensively utilizing the glasses. The next paragraph contains a brief review, followed by an in depth (possibly rambling, almost certainly too long) review. I purchased these glasses on a whim (08 July 2010) after finding out they would work with my older DLP's checkerboard 3D Input. I originally used these glasses with my Laptop (specs below) and was amazed with the results. However, the Laptop just didn't have the horsepower to drive games "The Way It's Meant to be Played", so a new "Gaming Rig" later and the full potential of these glasses was unlocked (and my mind subsequently blown ;-) ).
As a short review, if you already have a "checkerboard" DLP, a 120hz Monitor or a 3D Ready TV these glasses are worth every penny. They provide an unequaled measure of realism and immersion to games developed with the technology in mind, while still providing a new experience to almost any other game. (The drivers for the system are able to translate (shift) rendered scenes in the GPU to simulate 3D for games not developed with this tech in mind. For a listing of games and their "3D Worthiness", check the nVidia website). I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone with a reasonably powered gaming computer and the appropriate display. I wouldn't have many qualms about recommending these to someone missing a piece of the equation and adequate disposable income. This, of course, is not even taking into account the 3D content available from other sources, such as Blu Ray (Requires a Blu Ray computer drive, obviously) or streaming content through nVidia's website.====================Begin In Depth Review====================
1) Packaging
The packaging was not what I was expecting - they are packaged as an expensive accessory should be packaged! A heavy cardboard foldout cube contains the product itself and some accessories:
1 Pair of LCD Shutter Glasses
1 IR Emitter (Which has an on/off button, a USB mini female connector for attachment to a PC, a 3.5MM stereo adaptor for connecting a DLP with Checkerboard 3D, and a little wheel on the top to adjust the "Depth" of 3D Processing. The Unit glows green when plugged in and communicating with the nVidia Stereoscopic Drivers, Red when Plugged in and not communicating (e.g. booted into Linux))
1 Microfiber Pouch - For storing the glasses
1 Green nVidia Branded Microfiber Cloth for cleaning
Several bridge adaptors to suit your nose,
1 long (~3M) USB cable (A to Mini) for attaching the IR Emitter
1 slightly shorter (~2M) USB cable for charging the glasses (A to Mini)
1 3.5mm Stereo to DIN cable for Checkerboard Format DLPs
1 obligatory outdated drivers CD. 2) Setup and General Observations
Setup was easy, though I ran into a minor snag with my particular equipment arrangement. My TV would not allow a switch to 3D Mode using the HDMI Out on my graphics adaptors through my receiver, even set as "Pass through" Mode - the output had to be directly wired to the TV (I am using HDMI Outputs). This necessitated the use of a TOSLINK out for Sound purposes. Since I prefer the HDMI output (For HDCP content and less cabling, I've resorted to swapping two different HDMI cables, one directly connected to the TV and one to an input on the receiver). Once the drivers were installed, the IR Emitter attached to the PC and TV, I turned on the glasses (Which in a pleasant surprise, came out of the box with a hefty charge) and proceeded to be amazed. The glasses themselves have an excellent battery life, and are able to be charged from any 5v "USB Connector" source (For example, I usually use a PlayStation 3 Charging System and plug the glasses directly on the mini connector where a controller would sit, though plugging a USB cable into the side will also charge the glasses.) I have used these glasses for hours on end without discomfort (I don't wear glasses normally). My brother has also used these glasses for an extended period of time, and he has prescription lenses. The glasses fit comfortably over his glasses and he's not complained of comfort or vision issues. 3) Drawbacks / Cons
This technology is not without its drawbacks. Many games require disabling certain graphical effects as they do not display properly or conflict with essential game play elements. Bloom and Motion Blur are two common items. In many games, text windows / GUI Elements are drawn very close to the screen, breaking immersion when the object that the text pertains to is drawn in the "back" of the scene. In games marked "3D Ready!", everything works flawlessly. I have had great success with games marked as "Excellent" or "Great" according to nVidia. I have not tried any games marked as "Fair" or "Poor". However at some point I will trying both EVE Online and Star Trek Online. Both are marked as "Fair" and I will be interested to see the results, especially given my amazement at Sins of a Solar Empire. Space seems like an excellent medium for 3D gaming.
Another drawback of this technology is the system requirements. I have used this with two different computing platforms. Since this was being output to a DLP TV, most games had to be run at 1920x1080 resolution. However, some games were able to be black boxed into a 1920x1080 window but run at a much lower resolution. Call of Duty 4, for example, was run at 1024x768 with a ton of black-space around the window (But in 3D! The sacrifices we make...). I was shocked that several games were playable in 3D on my laptop at the 1920x1080 resolution. However, most were not, "requiring" (That's what I told myself, anyway) that I buy a new gaming rig. Specs at the bottom of the review in an attempt to mitigate the self serving ego stroking provided by posting system specs ;)
When playing games with other people around, games range from "watchable" without the glasses (Image just appears fuzzy in some areas) to "headache inducing". Speaking of headaches, some friends of mine have reported headaches or nausea after using the 3D glasses for a brief time. If you've not been exposed to 3D content in a movie theater or at a Demo Booth of this technology, and think you might be susceptible to the effect, I'd avoid these unless and until you've had a chance to get an extended hands on with the unit.4) Miscellaneous Musings
Some things I'd like to know about this product that I currently do not:
Are multiple pairs of glasses able to be used from the same IR Emitter (I believe the answer to this is "Yes", which would increase the value of these, especially for multi-person households (Families, Roommates, etc)
Are there 120hz LCD TVs that are not marked as 3D Ready that can be used as display devices for these glasses? I've heard different reports on this - some say it's not possible and you need the 1.4a HDMI Spec, and I've heard anecdotal accounts of PowerStrip being able to force 120hz refresh and subsequent usage.
Same Question as above for Plasma TVs.
"A Friend" told me that certain "Adult" content is quite impressive. I'll leave that as an exercise to the reader to determine the merits of this statement ;-)5) Individual Game Impressions
3rd Person Action / Adventure Game: Batman: Arkham Asylum (BAA)
These glasses coupled with a game marked "3D Ready" results in an amazing, immersive experience. Rarely playing video games did I feel like part of the action, but this game and these glasses did the trick. The first time I loaded this up, I was instantly reminded of the first time I played Time Travelers - "This is *SO* cool". Six months later, I still get that feeling. For example, BAA is stunning - utilizing this system gives one the impression they are watching through a window into a living world. The most memorable moments of the game so far in 3D (Having played through it once in 2D on a Xbox) involve crawling through duct work, opening said ducts, anything involving steam or explosions, fighting ... so pretty much the entirety of the game. Near the start of actual play, Batman walks through a decontamination chamber filling with mist - this mist swirls around Batman in all dimensions, totally enveloping him. When opening the ducts, bolts fly off out of the screen - the first time I did this (Even knowing I was playing in 3D, and having played other games in 3D) I tried to duck out of the way of the bolt - that says a lot about the immersion this technology allows. Still on the duct work, crawling through spider webs feels like crawling through webs (This time I resisted the urge to swipe at myself to get them off!). Simply Superb. I would highly recommend this game as a demonstration of the technology - even if you already have it for another platform. As far as I have seen, there have been no glitches or odd behaviours with this game. I believe the nVidia control panel recommends disabling a graphical enhancement in the options to prevent some anomalies. 3rd Person Shooter / Sandbox: Mafia II
Another game I have played extensively that was developed with this technology involved is Mafia 2. Ordinarily (in my opinion), this type of "Sandbox" game is uninteresting and quite frankly, boring. However, these glasses gave me an entirely different perspective (Hehe, 3D puns) on this genre. Running through the streets of Mafia 2 with it's already excellent "period" feel coupled with the depth this product provides turned what would have been a throw away game (for me) into something I played for hours and hours. Premier Mounts PTM Universal Tilt/Pivot Mounts For LCD Screens (Silver) Review

The Premier Mounts PTM LCD Tilt/Pivot Mount for 10-30-Inch LCD Displays is a good, solid, sturdy mounting kit. Easy to install, and seems to be up to the task as advertised. I'd highly recommend it for computer monitors or smaller HDTV displays.
For larger HDTV displays, it does make the screen seem to "hover" a good distance from the wall. If you're looking for a mount that will make your new HDTV look like a picture hanging in your entertainment center, this isn't the one to get.
On the positive side, however, this mount will rotate and pivot. The rotation is great (as long as you give your cables enough slack!) especially for computer LCD monitors because you can switch to "tall" mode (if your OS supports it) and use the LCD monitor to view full-sized documents and standard-shaped pages at their proper proportions without having to scroll.
The bad news is that the "pivot" feature isn't nearly as versatile as rotation. Really, you get a very small degree of pivot out of this mount. You're not going to make it point the screen at the floor or ceiling... At best, you get a slight slant that might be helpful for angling the screen down a bit if you have it mounted high up.
So while this didn't work out for my 26" HDTV, it has been absolutely PERFECT on my 20" LCD computer monitor. Your mileage may vary-- If you aren't looking to mount your HDTV flush against the wall, then this might be the one for you.
And let me reiterate: Installation is easy. Just make SURE you use a decent stud-finder and do this with a partner if you're installing a heavy screen! I also recommend a ratchet screwdriver, because the screws can be tough, and using a power-driver may end up stripping the heads. You do not want that!
All in all, a great mount for the price.

LG 42LGX 42-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV Review

I searched high and low for a 40 to 42in TV and this was the best deal on the market. I was being told by salesmen (and reviews) that Samsungs had the best picture and I found them to look pretty good as well. But for the price range I was in ($1000) I was not finding the specs I wanted. (120Hz, 42in, 1080p, auto light adjust, swivel base) As a matter of fact, it was very hard to find a reputable TV maker with a 120Hz 42 in that price point. Then I stumbled across the 42LGX. I thought the TV was stunning looking with the scarlet red on the back, the chrome colored base and the clear, see-through power circle. It had all those specs and the picture was absolutely stunning! I looked at it side by side next to a comparable Samsung and the pictures were very similar. When comparing to the Samsung models in the same price, the picture was better. Samsung would only offer a 60Hz TV at that price point with a 40in screen. It just looked way smaller. The LG was a no brainer. The only thing that made the decision difficult was the 42LG70. It had the exact same specs, but it wasn't 1.8in thick. It was on clearance as a display model for $850 and the LGX was brand new for $999. The Samsung closest in price and features was about $1300. I ended up buying at Fryes Electronics with a 5 year warranty and I'm very happy with the deal.
I use the TV with my computer (I disconnected my cable TV) to watch movies and TV shows over the internet and it works great. I use Windows Media Center and I have no problem getting full and wide screen shows in high def. I also use a video capture card that gives me all the features of a HD DVR. I get HD over the air and it looks way better than cable or satellite on this TV. The TV works very well as a second monitor with the DVI connection. You cannot tell if you're watching TV piped from the computer or directly on the TV - it looks that good. Also, when people see it, they can't believe I don't have cable.
I would highly recommend this TV to anyone. Easy to set up - I didn't even make any changes to the color settings at all. Right out the box, it looked great. And the menus and just so simple. It's fairly light, connections are easy to make, it's just a great looking TV. If you can find it on sale, buy it! You won't be sorry.

I was so excited that I found a mount that didn't cost as much as the TV - it was around $20. As far as we could tell from the pictures, it looked like it would fit the screw holes on the back of my TV. Unfortunately, it did not fit the back of my TV. Fortunately, we were able to saw the bottom off the mount - making it straight across the bottom which made it fit the back of the TV. For the price - it was worth having to saw it. I wish the pictures had been better, but I'm glad we got it.

Samsung UN32D4000 32-Inch 720p 60 Hz LED HDTV (Black) Review

I selected this model for these reasons - 1: Thin case LED display, 2: Light weight to hang from the wall, 3: The even & sleek edge-trim around all corners of the TV, 5: Available inputs, and 6: Newest Samsung model. The 32" seemed about the right size for a guest bedroom in our home. Picked up a wall mount locally so didn't use the provided stand.
At first I was looking for a TV spec'd at 1080P, but with the certain features I wanted as noted above, and the price range, this 720P fits the bill for our needs just right. The picture quality is absolutely amazing and I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. The screen is bright, colors are vivid and the image is perfect. I didn't try adjusting anything as it looked perfectly clear to me right out of the box. From all areas of the room, the viewing angle is good. The only thing I didn't like was the dongle/pigtail connector for the RCA analog inputs as it would have been nice to have those connectors built right into the rear of the TV but I suppose that's too much to cram into this thin display (didnt need these anyway - using HDMI). Also thought it was odd that it didn't come with a short coax cable for the antenna/cable input.
I don't have cable - using OTA HDTV and Netflix streaming via an attached player. The TV quickly found all channels in my area with no problems. When I first turned the unit on, I selected AIR as opposed to Cable, and it went right into the channel scan so setup was easy.

We just dumped satellite and went pc to tv to save money. At first we tried a vga to component converter, which was good, but it didn't make use of our tv's high-def so the picture was a bit fuzzy. Then I saw this converter and at the price, just had to try it. The difference was night and day. We now have access to our tv's native widescreen resolution, and the HD picture quality is as crisp as on the laptop screen. I wish we had tried this first!
We have a Philips 42PFL5332D 42" plasma and a 2006 Dell laptop running XP. Our connection is vga to hdmi (this is the connection needed for HD quality). It took literally a minute to get the picture up, and it appeared at the right resolution without us needing to do a thing.
The sound was a different matter, due to our inexperience. With our old converter we ran a stereo cable out of the laptop headphone port to the audio-in on the tv. We left that as it was and got no sound. We unplugged it and got sound - from the laptop's speakers. I'm ashamed to say it took me half an hour to figure out that we had to use the audio cable that came with this converter, connected between the laptop headphone port and the converter itself so it could feed the sound through the HDMI cable to the tv. Hey, live and learn, right?
As other reviewers have helpfully noted, this converter comes with everything you need except an HDMI cable. So I also ordered an HDMI (2 meter) 6 foot cable HQ 1080P 1.3b, and it works fine with our setup.
There are just two small negatives that led to me giving it only 4 stars. First, as others have said, it doesn't have an on/off switch, which seems an incredible oversight. And that leads to the second negative: this converter runs hot. To allow a little airflow underneath it I put it on top of the two small plastic endcaps that came with the HDMI cable. We'll see if the heat this thing produces impacts its performance in future, but for now, we're very impressed with it.

I bought these cables and they look great and appear to be of fine quality.....DONT BE FOOLED! They are ok I suppose IF YOU NEVER PLAN TO UNPLUG THEM! When trying to unplug the cable from my HDTV the supposed gold prong stays suck in the tv whilst the cable comes out with these frayed gold conecters that are impossible to salvage. The conecter is held together by a tiny dot of metal sauter and pops apart like a rubberband. I bought them through Amazon from ANT OLINE...BEWARE of this company I have been trying to get a hold of them for a week and they refuse to answer my emails...Amazon wont replace them because they were from one of thier vendors not them. I have to go through some A-Z guarantee which I have yet to have time to hassle with. I wont order from third parties on AMAZON...always a NIGHTMARE....stick with AMAZON products only and perhaps you will safe. DONT BUY THESE CABLES.

works great. helps my mounted tv stay flush and fully functional with my ps3. has done everything as needed
my only complaint is that it isnt firm in the ps3 hdmi output, it kinda leaks out a bit where gravity is pulling.
i would give it a 5 if it was just firm in the jack output, otherthan that its perfect.

I needed a Wall Mount for my 32" Sharp AQUOS. After a little research, I found that
this flat screen TV had an unusual Bolt/Mount pattern (400x400). I Chose the VideoSecu long arm LCD wall mount bracket with removable mount adaptor plate (black) ML520BE. I found out later that the info from the internet abouta 400x400 bolt pattern was incorrect. It is actually a 200 x 200 pattern. Either way, the installation was very easy. This brackett is recommended for a max weight of 60lbs. It actually supports my entire weight of 175lbs. With a small bit of help from my daughter, I was able to attach the TV. This mount is great, you can adjust it (your TV) to anyposition you desire. I will be purchasing 2 more. 1 for my daughters room (27" Flatscreen) and 1 for our family room (42" Flatscreen). I highly recommend this to everyone.

Haier HLTD7 7-Inch Handheld HDTV with Built-In DVD Player, Black Review

Great set with wonderful picture. Sound is weak so I added Bose Music Monitor speakers and that completely solved that problem (connected to earphone jack). Internal speakers are OK while on the go. This set is identical to one sold by Supersonic but picture quality of Haier is superior. DVD works well. Remote is well laid out and superior to the one that came with the Supersonic. The antenna connection is recessed and diffacult to get to without a wrench. I added a 90 degree screw adapter from Radio Shack and now the connection is easyly made.
Love the dvd feature and added Bose speakers for home use. Set is easy to operate and quality superior to Supersonic.
PLEASE NOTE: Set is black and much better looking than the picture showen. I have two of these units and use one everyday in my bedroom.
In my area an external antenna is required ---- I use the internal/external DIRECTIONAL dish from Radio Shack---cost about $87.00.

I lost my TX card a long time ago when I installed my system on a wired connection. Later decided to go wireless but the card was no where to be found. We have a brand new 32" tv less than 2 weeks old and our 1 and 2 year old sons keyed the screen! Thankfully they did not crack the screen or make deep scratchs and we where able to fill in and repair the scratches with a kit! I then googled screen protectors and read tons of reviews that said that TV Armor was the best hands down. I wasted no time and ordered that very next moning. I wanted this thing ASAP but there was no rush shipping option at checkout, but the next morning (yes 24 hrs. later)my TV Armor had arrived at my front door! (It did ship from 1 state over so it didn't have travel far I guess)It me took less than 5 min. to set up, fit perfectly and very snug and it really does make the picture sharper even without HD channels and there is NO glare. Epson EX3210 SVGA 3LCD Business Projector, 2800 Lumens, VGA, USB, 5.1 lbs Review

The Epson EX3210 is an excellent entry level LCD projector. I found it very easy to setup on both PC and Macintosh computers. Oddly, I had a small issue installing the USB driver on my Mac laptop. When I connected the USB cable to my Mac, the mac popped up an alert that it could not identify the keyboard. I dismissed that dialog box and proceeded with the USB video driver installation and once that was done, the projector paired up with the computer easily. No issues whatsoever connecting the VGA cable to the PC with Windows 7. The projector was immediately recognized by the laptop and the computer automatically started sending the video signal to the LCD projector.
Brightness is in my opinion outstanding, even in a bright room with a lot of fluorescent lighting. I had my projector 8 feet from a wall and the image on the wall was roughly 6 feet wide and about 44 inches tall.
I was impressed with the amount of features in this very reasonably priced projector. The image was relatively sharp at 800x600 resolution and a zoom control on the projector was an unexpected feature that allows you to zoom in on photos or whatever is being projected. The keystone adjustments let you correct for off axis projection angles within reason. Just about everything can be controlled with the provided remote control. The remote even includes an electronic pointer function that you can move on the screen via the arrow controls.
A good variety of ports are available including RCA Audio ports, S-Video,VGA cable and there is also a USB TypeA document camera port. A Kensington security lock slot is also available. There is no HDMI connection on this model.
The projector lets you upload a company logo or image of some sort that can be permanently used as the "startup screen" when you first turn the projector on. This can also be password protected thus giving some amount of protection if the projector is stolen. The operation of the projector can also be protected by a password if you wish.
Lamp life is projected to be up to 4000 hours or up to 5000 hours in ECO mode (which reduces lamp brightness and fan noise since the bulb runs cooler). There are several color modes to choose from if you wish to tweak the balance depending on what you are projecting.
Overall I am very pleased with the ease of operation and quality of output provided by the Epson EX3210 multimedia projector.

VIZIO XVT3D650SV 65-Inch Theater 3D Edge Lit Razor LED LCD HDTV with VIZIO Internet Apps, Black Review

So you know where I'm coming from, I'm replacing a 50" Samsung plasma. I have a number of various sized flat panels around the house and a home theater in the basement. I just had my 720p Mitsy projector replaced with a Sony (STR-DA3600ES) and Avatar on Blu-Ray blew me away (108" screen). I consider myself an enthusiast, but in no way an expert. Anyway, onward...
Out of the box experience - Fantastic. The box is gorgeous, the instructions on the top tell you how to easily (for such a big TV) undo the clips and sleeve-off the box.
Set up - Couldn't be simpler. Quick start guide is accurate. Instructions manual is in English only, not 7 languages, and is plainly written, not some computer converted Chinese. I couldn't get the Vizio remote to control the DirecTV box though. Will have to look for a code I suppose. Not a biggie. Will get it. (Edit: Thanks to AVS Forum, someone pointed out I must have my receiver set to RF mode in Remote Control set up. I changed it to IR, and voilà, all set. I had to "Try The Next Code" to get up to Code 4. All set). Luckily, my 2-year old receiver is 3D ready - HR21-700. DirecTV said just "plug it in, the receiver will walk you through the set up once it recognizes the 3D TV". Not quite right, for me anyway, but a restart of the receiver and I was up and running.
2D-HD - I started with Kill Bill 2 on TNTHD and it looked great. Some HD looks better than others, not surprisingly. For example, 30 Rock must use some type of softening lens.
AppleTV (720p) - YouTube looks a little better than I thought it would. From Apple's movie catalog, previews of 300 and The Bucket List looked sharp. Netflix streaming looked as good as it did on my 50" Sammy, and that's a good thing. Photos from Mobile Me via my iPhone looked great.
3D on DirecTV - Started with n3D, which I now realize is very analogous to Mark Cuban's HDNET back in the early days of HD. It's where you should go for the fun initial impression. A lot of scenic/nature content. It impresses right away.
Family take - 11-year old boy loves it. Despicable Me in 3D is wow-ing him. 15-year old daughter too. I prefer the premium glasses, but the kids like the basic ones. Daughter's friend was tickled the basic (flat) glasses fit over her eye glasses. Wife's first reaction was good, then made a comment about it making her cross-eyed, then backed up and liked it. She is also most impressed with Despicable Me and says it feels less gimmicky than past 3D experiences (where something just jumps out at you now and then).
3D sports - I downloaded the National Championship game (Auburn vs Oregon) via DirecTV and although I like it better than the active shutter, I'm not sure I wouldn't prefer a plain crisp HD for sports. I watch a ton of sports, and my initial reaction to sports in 3D with both passive 3D (this set) and active 3D (the other available 3D technology) is mixed at this point in time.
Vizio 3D Blu-Ray player - Started with Dinosaurs, IMAX Under The Sea, Alice in Wonderland, and Polar Express. The player is quick and intuitive with the Internet app screen as the main screen. Disney's Alice in Wonderland is fabulous and I'm most surprised by how pleasing the image depths are. IMAX Under The Sea has the cool IMAX 3D number countdown at the beginning - fun. The sea images give "whoa" reactions from the family. This is THE 3D Blu-Ray to throw in first - Jim Carrey narrated and beautiful. The tech of the whole thing falls away after a few minutes and the experience is immersive from then on. The player is snappy.
3D thoughts, as this set is passive 3D (vs active 3D)
Passive 3D gets everything right it claims, IMO. The glasses are light and easy. It's nice they are inexpensive (I bought10 pairs of RealD glasses from Amazon for $25 10 - Pairs - Brand New Sealed - 3D Circular Polarized 3D Glasses same as RealD for Disney Digital -Legend of the Guardians (10 Pairs) -they work great). Also easy to sit and glance down at my lap top now and then. I surely don't wish I was worried about the active 3D syncing, battery life, and if someone is going to sit on them. My brother-in-law walked in and I tossed a pair of glasses across the room. He slapped them on and said "Wow, that's awesome". He also has 3 kids under 6 years old. No way he ever buys $100 glasses (which is what the active version of 3D requires) for that bunch. ;)
The knocks on passive 3D are a little over stated for me. You'll find these concerns if you surf around the internet researching 3D TV options.
- Claim: "Black lines" - They are (barely) there, however, they only are appreciable if you get within 3-4 feet of the screen. I liken it to the screen door effect. If the TV is big enough and you get close enough, you'll see them. This concern ended up as a no-big-deal item.
- Claim: "Turning head sideways ruins the 3D" - nope. Not an issue.
- Claim: "The 3D-ness severely degrades with off-angle viewing" - Not for me. It does lessen a little though. Otherwise, walking around the room gives a yoyo-ing 3D image which follows you. Cool.
- Claim: "Half resolution" thing - Didn't even occur to me when watching it. No comments from family about less of anything as far as picture quality goes.
- Claim: "Cross talk" - Not seeing it. Maybe if some one pointed it out to me?
More thoughts...
It is high gloss and I can see where a heavily windowed room could be an issue. Fine for me with flanking windows and a (non-windowed) wall facing the TV.
Make sure your space can handle a 65-incher. I'd recommend being a minimum of 8 ft away, with 10+ ft being better. This thing is big.
I think I'm officially spoiled by HD and now 3D as standard def is getting harder to watch. Not sure if this is the TV or just me.
Final thoughts...
My ordered list of priorities when I bought this TV were size, price point, and then 3D. Well, the size is significantly (not just a little bit) bigger than my 50-incher - check. The price was right at 3G's - check. The 3D has definitely exceeded my expectations - check. The 2D has met my hopes in that I'm very happy with the black levels (although they are not as deep as a plasma). For me, this is a great gen-1 Vizio 3D TV. I'm sure future years will bring 4K2K and improved tech, but at a price. For today, this hit the spot and was an incremental improvement over my 2-yr old Samsung plasma.
Update (7/5/11) - After 5 months, I had to come back and bump my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Long gone are the days of over-analyzing this TV. The longer I own it, the more I enjoy it. No regrets. (Tip: Get Tron Legacy 3D. O-M-G).

My husband and I move a lot, he is in the military and we don't choose our movers. So, things happen and stuff gets lost. What's infuriating, at least to my husband, is having a large flat screen TV with no remote to change the screen format, which apparently must be done for optimal viewing. lol It is frustrating though when things are cut off in the screen, or you have to get up to change the volume. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the exercise, but I change the volume, and the channel A LOT. Doesn't every channel seem to have different volume needs? Anyway, this remote is a 'lil more basic than the original but looks almost identical and does everything it needs to do. Great purchase.

This bracket holds up to 100 lbs, we bought it for our 32 in LCD TV and it works great. You attach the bracket to the TV and one to the wall, and it slides on and off. It is very close to the wall and the tv looks great. It works well and I am very pleased.

On the good Side: the set up couldn't be easier. you go to the website, asnwer a few questions about your audio/video equipment and how you watch t.v., dvd's, and listen to music. then, you connect to the the remote to your computer and it's all done! that's it.
On the not-so-good side: the one i bought (less than a year ago) had issues several times so it had to be reset/updated. then a few of the bottuns didn't function as programmed. Finally, it just went dead. when i tried to reset it a " replace battery..." came on. the only thing they didn't say was that you practically have to break the remote to get to the rechargable battery that is glue in place and, no one carries the battery and, if you do find it, it's $45 (nearly 1/2 the price and not guaranteed to work unless it is exactlty the same).
i just bought the harmony 550 at 1/2 the price of 880; it has all the same features, takes 4 AAAA batteries, and can be programmed the same way (actually, the website allows you to keep the same settings as the old remote and transfer it to the new one)

GE 22784 Ultra ProGrade A to A Flat HDMI Cable (25 Feet) Review

After first seeing the cables unlimited ultraflat hdmi cables (which top out at 15 feet), I was disappointed to find this cable so thick and so stiff. I wanted to run it under the rug from one end of the living room to the other, but it is so stiff between the rug and the pc and between the rug and the monitor that it seems "in the way" and it is thick enough for me to feel it under our somewhat thin carpet.
However, in its defense, I suspect an ultraflat would lower the quality of the signal at 25 feet, otherwise CU would have made a longer one, so I cannot really complain. Wishful thinking on my part should not cost the review of this product a star.
It is a flat cable; it appears to be well made, and it works as advertised
It has been noted elsewhere for other flat cables to be aware that if you have to make a turn under carpet, you will have a bulge because flat cables just do not bend that way (unlike round cables). It is perfect for a straight run.
I have minimized the "in the way" feeling by simply using Cables Unlimited ADP-3785 HDMI Female to Female Coupler and AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable (6.5 Feet/2.0 Meters) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] to connect it to my monitor. Now my HTPC is behind the TV and I can use it as a computer with sound from the other side of the living room without having to deal with any wireless headaches or costs.

LG 22LE5300 22-Inch 720p 60 Hz LED LCD HDTV Review

I have only had it a week and it is my first HD TV and I think it is great. I bought it for the bedroom and watch it from about 12 feet away and the screen size in my opinion is perfect. I can see all the detail but the set is not so large as to be obtrusive.
Picture quality is excellent for over the air channels using a coax cable to an external antenna that is in the attic. Sound is good and I think the Energy Star rating is a plus. There is a option to enhance the frequencies of the human voice so I can better understand what is being said. I think this really works.
I had a gift card for Fry's so I did not buy from Amazon this time but I did research other brands and sizes here. Like I said this is my first HD but I have looked at a ton of them at Best Buy and Costco. I cannot remember seing another set that had a better picture but I haven't really seen too many of the smaller screen sizes. It may just look better because it is small but I cannot imagine what 1080 would give you over the 720 it has. The LED may have something to do with it as well. I have seen no motion blur or ghosting and it is 60hz refresh rate.

I bought this project for my classroom after the bulb to replace my old projector was going to cost over $500. As a projector it works well, but I wish I had known some things about the item before I purchased it.
1) The projector is not very bright. As a result, the projection is not very sharp. This makes text fuzzy, so that everything has to be huge for my students to see it.
2) The settings on this projector do little to help the image. The manual is poorly translated from Chinese and is quite funny. So it's hard to figure out exactly what to do if you are having problems.
3) I have to start the projector twice before it will stay on. I have no clue why it needs me to do this, but I think it has something to do with the fuse that lights the bulb. I guess it has to warm up.
4) There is no zoom and if you can hang this from the ceiling you will be better off. Mine is stacked on 3 books on a cart. The screen is very low and the projector has to be close to project a big picture. I mean within 5 feet close, so if you want to use this with a SmartBoard make sure you have this mounted from the ceiling or be prepared for students to block projection when using the board.
On the reverse, for the price this is a good projector for watching movies at home in a VERY dark room.
I'm not unsatisfied with my purchase, but if I had it to do again, I'd probably beg for more money and get a better projector just because I'm using this for my classroom. At home, I think this projector would work great for movies and games.
The extra bulb and cords are a nice touch.

Samsung 3D Starter Kit SSG-P2100T Review

Hey I purchased the entire setup, the 55 inch Samsung 3D tv, the glasses 5 pair and the dvd starter kit. I played the movie perfect out of the box. In 2D mode made some changes went back to 3D and got the crosstalk that is being mentioned in earlier post. Best Buys setup did not have it. Geek squad not familiar enough with it when they came to the house. I played with the settings with the bluray 3D player on went into the controls for the 3D setting (that only can be adjusted when 3D player is on and running) go into tv menu and under the 3D setting very last option that is blanked out unless 3D player is running is the box (3D Optimize) some are set to 0 some are plus 1. I set mine to -1 and picture cleared right up. 3D optimize when at 0 or +1 I got ghosting or cross talk. Set to -1 and picture calibrated fine. I am not sure what changed this or maybe I made the change when I was adjusting settings earlier. It only shows to allow changes when the 3D player is running. Player, TV and glasses work great. Samsung should put out a quick book on the settings for 3D this to me was important. None of the other settings and adjustments worked and not until I turned on 3D player and looked it all over did I find this adjustment and make the change. Great TV, now we need more movies!

Samsung LNT4081F 40-inch 1080p LED LCD HDTV with LED Motion Plus Review

Samsung's highest-end 81 series of LCD televisions are the very first to incorporate a backlight made of hundreds of LEDs instead of the usual fluorescent tubes. The many benefits are immediately visible in its amazing contrast and color quality that finally matches that of plasma screens. Many reviews all agreed this is the best LCD they've seen, and in my own purchasing research it is very easy to see its quality next to others in the store, and ultimately that is why I bought this over any other model.
By selectively varying the brightness of each backlighting LED, the TV is able to have a much larger range from black to white, achieving a contrast ratio never seen before by an LCD.
In addition, LEDs produce a purer white, and allow the screen to display a wider range of colors (color gamut) than any fluorescent-backlit LCD.
Finally, the LEDs can be flashed at a very high rate of speed to improve upon the 8ms response time of the LCD itself, matching or beating the motion of 120 Hz panels.
Meanwhile, the TV uses much less electricity as a plasma and even other LCDs, and should be immune to any burn-in and lifetime issues associated with plasmas.

Toshiba 55HT1U 55-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV Review

Value - I purchased the Toshiba 55HT1U via the Amazon.com website for $999.99 plus about $80 shipping. I've seen the price as low as $888.88 on their website in the past couple of weeks. You can't come close to the value of this set with any other product that I've seen, particularly for the screen size and picture quality.

Delivery - Abt Electronics filled the order for the Toshiba 55HT1U that I purchased about a month ago. A local Pilot contractor delivered the TV, but would only help me move it as far as the garage. The TV was well packaged, with no visible dings to the box.
Set-up - Initial set-up only took a few minutes, with little need to reference the very abbreviated set-up manual included with the TV. If you want the full manual, you'll have to download it from the Toshiba site.
Before I received the TV, I read a number of reviews of the 55HT1U that complained of the set turning back on after being shut off. Fortunately, one of the reviewers traced the problem to the REGZA function. I turned the REGZA functionality off during the set-up process and have had no problems with unintended restart.
Picture - The 55HT1U comes with five preset picture settings - Sport, Standard, Cinema, PC, and Preference. The Standard setting looked pretty good right out of the box, but is a bit bright and the colors seem oversaturated. Sports setting is so bright that it hurts your eyes. I really haven't spent any time watching PC or Cinema picture modes. I set the Preference mode using the Disney WOW DVD calibration disk. Here are my settings:
Contrast - 95
Backlight - 63
Dynalight - On
Brightness - 42
Color - 43
Tint - 5
Sharpness - 18
Dynamic Contrast - Middle
Static Gamma - about 55%
Color Temp - Cool
Clear Frame - On most of the time; however, turn off for upconversion from lower def sources (avoid soap opera effect).
Film Stabilization - Standard
These settings tend to dial the brightness of the display down and turn the color intensity down as well when compared to the Standard setting. The Cool color temp setting is my personal preference. Even with the reduced brightness, bright lights and sunlight don't wash out the display in the least. I'm not sure how LED technology could improve on the 55HT1U LCD performance in this regard.
One final benefit of the WOW Calibration disk was the Delay calibration - I had some lag between the sound and picture coming through my A/V receiver. I was able to eliminate the lag using the disk by making adjustments in the receiver.
In general, I can't say enough good things about the picture. However, this is my first LCD TV - I could be more easily impressed than some.
Audio - I find the audio performance to be much better than many other reviewers - although it's still not that great. I set the Advanced Audio setting to QSound (Surround), which works pretty well. That said, I listen almost exclusively through my A/V receiver.
Features - The remote is simple to use and the on-screen menus are fairly logical. However, I used the numeric code for the Toshiba remotes to teach my A/V receiver remote to run the TV. As a result, I don't need to use the 55HT1U remote during normal viewing.
I would have liked to have the full users guide available in hard copy - I had to bring my laptop downstairs to have the guide available for calibration.
Three rear and one side HDMI inputs more than satisfy my needs. I use a PS3 (connected to my A/V receiver via HDMI) for streaming, some gaming, and DVD/Blu Ray/CD playback. As a result, I only need one HDMI input for the receiver and the side HDMI input for my son's XBox. See the notes above on time delay if you experience lag between the sound and picture when sending signals through an A/V receiver to the TV. The PS3 also eliminates the need for any internet connectivity in the TV. I do need to use the optical out on the 55HT1U to get the digital sound back to the receiver.
In summary:
Pros - Great price/performance/picture size value. Beautiful picture. Easy to use remote and menus.
Cons - No users guide in box. REGZA function could cause problems if you haven't done your homework and turned it off.

Polaroid 19in 1440x900 HDTV LCD Review

I am shocked that the few reviews for this TV have been positive. A quick check on the internet for this Polaroid model will show endless counts of nothing but misery dealing with tech support, warranty service and refunding.
After six months of owning one, it suddenly would not turn on for me. Apparently the 19 inch widescreens are experiencing lots of power board failures. I had to complain to customer service for over an hour, including hold time, before speaking with someone higher up about how I wanted nothing to do with their company.
While they absolutely refused to authorize a refund (because the store I bought it from said that it was out of their hands after 30 days) she finally agreed to send a pre-paid label out so I could ship it via FedEx for replacement or repair. Otherwise I would be out thirty dollars just to send it out.
It has been received at the repair center in CA, USA and customer service informed me that they do not even try to fix any tv "that small" and want to send a replacement - the only problem is that "there are none in stock". The TV came from the factory in March but they don't have any more? Sounds suspicious to me. I was told to call back in another two weeks for an update.
A lot of internet reviews sound like the story I'm going through - many customers end up waiting months on dead-end updates from customer service until they DEMAND to have their money refunded. If I don't see a new TV soon (which is very likely to malfunction again) I am going to have do the same thing.
Before you decide on this "money saver", research this model and what consumers have to say - most of it is pretty ugly.

Naxa 7-inch Digital TV with DVD Player and USB/ SD/ MMC Inputs Model NX-561 Review

I bought this tv to reduce wear and tear on my more expensive portable dvd player and must say it's better than I expected. It loads dvd's quickly and plays them quietly. It plays dvd (.vob) and .avi files using the memory card slots (only file formats I've tried so far) and outputs the picture and sound through the A/V output jack (in case you want to watch on a bigger tv or transfer file A/V to dvd-r, etc). The SD memory card works better than USB flash- seems to have faster video read times- just make sure you get a card class 4 or faster or the playback "stutters". The remote is responsive and there is an A/V input option in case you want to use it as a monitor for video games, etc. Sound quality from the two built in speakers should be sufficient for all viewing except in loud areas such as riding in a car. The only real cons: battery life is slightly short of 2 hours playback on a dvd; the screen is highly directional (blacks out at angle viewing), but what more can you expect from an 7" lcd screen? I've only had this tv a couple of weeks, so I can't speak to how long it will last, or what Naxa customer service is like. However, it's got alot features in a little package for around $125.

Samsung Factory Refurbished LN52A860S2FXZA 52" 1080p LCD HD TV - Free HDMI Review

I have had this TV for 4 days so far, and I can't say enough positive about things about it. The set up was easy, and the amount of control you have for the picture settings is very in depth. The extra warranty of the 860 (18 months instead of 12 months for the 850) is a nice perk. The blue TOC (Touch of Color) is barely noticeable, it really looks black/graphite grey unless you look very closely. The good news is that the 'halo effect' that some owners of the 750 have complained about is non-existent on the 860. I also love the swivel stand because I did not wall mount this TV even though it is exceptionally thin.
Plugged in my HD cable box and new Blu-ray player via HDMI and everything has worked perfectly so far. The picture is stunning, and there are so many functions and features that I just haven't gone through all of them yet.
On the flip side, there is a lag if you are using the little circle dial on the remote. Better off just clicking up, down, left, or right instead of spinning the dial around and waiting for the TV to react.
I don't have surround sound yet, but the TV speakers aren't too bad. Hard to rave about fake surround sound from tiny TV speakers, but that's expected.
Overall, I would recommend this TV without hesitation this to anyone looking for a new 1080p LCD TV.

LG Infinia 65LW6500 65-Inch Cinema 3D 1080p 120 Hz LED-LCD HDTV with Smart TV and Four Pairs of 3D Glasses Review

So, I have the 65lw6500 I got from here. Delivered no problem in one week. It replaced an LG 55LH90.
Here are my thoughts after a few days with it in no particular order. By the way, a little background on me....used to be REALLY into home theater, then I got married, so now I just enjoy it. I'm happy with the 80% solution. I have excellent vision and don't get motion sick or anything else like that. I do not like active shutter at all. It just irritates me, and the dimming and flickering I see when I move my head is a total deal breaker. YMMV
Anyway:
-it's freaking heavy. Also, it just seems huge compared to my 55". FYI, I sit about 10 feet.
-2d is very good. Surprisingly even good on SD content from Dish Network and older stuff on Netflix. Completely watchable.
- 3d is fantastic. Tangled is WOW! Of course, good source material makes a world of difference. Green Hornet added nothing in 3d, whereas Tangled was actually a more enjoyable movie in 3d. It was like a different film. I haven't seen any 3d issues.
-there is some flash lighting from the corners. I can tell a difference in blacks from my LH90 that had full local dimming backlight. (this does NOT have local dimming, unlike the 55 and 47 model 6500 listed in the table above. It's slightly annoying to me, but my wife doesn't even notice...also, I didn't point it out to her. Some things you just can't unsee. It improved as I adjusted the settings. The picture wizard is quite good.
-the edge lighting is more viewable as you move to the opposite side. For example, if I sit left of center, the right side of the screen becomes "less black" because of that side's edge light. Vice versa
- the magic remote is pretty nice, but not totally necessary..I wouldn't spend extra if it wasn't already included. There's not really any better way to explain it than comparing it to a Wii Remote. it also comes with another remote that has more buttons. Neither is what I would call a universal remote.
-the built in apps are cool. If you have a receiver with ARC, it's great to just click on Netflix, vudu, whatever and have the receiver switch over. The apps also work well. There are maybe 20apps or so? Netflix, Hulu, Amazon on demand (yes, watch the free stuff if you have Prime shipping), Pandora, Facebook, and some other ones that I don't recall.
-PS3 and Xbox 360 with kinect work just fine through my Onkyo r360 receiver. PS3 played Tangled blu ray with zero issues. I even put Ratchet and Clank in 3d conversion mode and it was pretty cool.
-speaking of, the 2d to 3d conversion is fun. It doesn't always work, but I'd say it's probably 85% right. I played Spongebob from Netflix and it got it mostly right, but there were times where his body, pants and legs were in the foreground, but his belt would be put in the background. Stuff like that. Generally, though, really cool.
In all, I like it. If you are the kind of person who NEEDS the blackest blacks, don't get it. But, passive 3d, large screen and 3d conversion sold me vs some other sets.

Sharp X-Flat 32F630 Flat-Screen 32" TV Review

I bought this television a few months ago and I must say that it was worth every penny. The picture is sharp and clear and the 16:9 pulldown is awesome. It really makes a difference when you're watching widescreen movies. You do really need to use the composite input to appreciate the picture quality of the TV, though. Overall its a great buy for those who love movies but don't want to dish out too much money.

Sharp X-Flat 32F630 Flat-Screen 32" TV Overview

The 32-inch 32F630 offers not only Sharp's elegant X-Flat cabinet design, but a flat picture tube, which not only looks cool compared to a conventional, bulbous screen, but also provides a high-quality, high-contrast picture--partly owing to the screen's ability to reduce reflected ambient light, but also due to Sharp's contrast enhancer and velocity-modulation scan technology. A great feature called V-compression even lets you view widescreen (letterboxed) DVDs in their native aspect ratio, in full resolution--none of the set's abilities are wasted in rendering the black bars necessary to display a movie in its original aspect ratio. Velocity-modulation scan improves the definition at picture edges, creating sharper images by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work--say, when rendering transitions from light to dark parts of an image--and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas. The 32F630's three-line comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped t-shirt). The set provides stereo audio (with five watts per channel) from broadcast programming via Multi-channel Television Sound (MTS), which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals. EquiSound keeps differing program levels from blaring out at you. A component-video input grants optimum connection with a compatible DVD player, while standard composite- and S-video inputs accommodate all DVD players. You can choose between a set of rear AV inputs and a set of front AV inputs (tasteful hidden when not in use) for extra convenience. A rear audio output lets you hook the set up with a surround receiver; you can choose a fixed- or variable-level output (variable lets you adjust the volume through the TV's remote). If you don't have a six-channel speaker setup for DVD audio, you can still make every movie night the ultimate experience: SRS TruSurround simulates surround sound through two speakers (even the stereo speakers on your TV). The set also features a trilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, French), ID labeling for channels and inputs, closed-caption display, V-Chip parental control, a sleep timer, and a universal remote control.

For $30 it's REALLY hard to beat this mount. I have a $250 dual monitor stand at the office and these are more flexible and have better angles. I bought two and wall mounted dual 22" widescreen monitors. They seem sturdy enough to mount a much larger monitor. Easy, simple set-up. Drill two holes into a stud, attach monitors and you're done. I used velcro wrap to tie up the cables and it looks very smooth. Highly recommended.

TV Video System Converter NTSC to PAL for All Video Systems Review

I bought this product because I have an old tv set which only accept Pal-M signal and some video equipments I have and want to connect to it are delivering NTSC signal.
When I first used this converter I was disapointed because the images keept showing with no colour.
Since I could not return it anymore I decided to open it and found out that the output crystal (the component which converts the frequency of the video signal)is of 4.43 Mhz which is suitable for Pal B, G, D, and I but not for Pal-M or Pal-N.
I removed that Crystal and replaced by one Pal-M frequency taken from an old VCR, which is not working anymore.
Now I have colour on my tv. The image is a bit blur but very acceptable.
For anyone who has this similar problem, you only need to locate the 4.43 crystal very near to the output conectors and replaced it by the one for you colour system.
3.575611MHz for PAL-M
3.582056MHz for PAL-N
The conclusion is that the product description is wrong. Here is what it says.
"The NTSC to PAL Converter converts any NTSC (3.58/4,43) signal into a PAL signal (any PAL B,D,I,G,M,N)."
As I mentioned it can only convert to B,G,D and I. You will need to make the modification I did.

The mount holds the tv well. Can get all cables pluged into the tv with minimal interferance from mount itself. I think its rated for 160 lbs but with four lag bolts holding it to wall studs it holds me up and i'm 230lbs. Nice sturdy construction I would say. Articulates and moves fluently. Good buy for sure.

I bought these glasses for my 4 year old daughter. They are bigger than I expected. My mitsubishi glasses are way too big for her and because it says Children, I assumed they would be small enough for her. Not! They are too big for her. I have to put a headband around her head to hold the glasses on her head. But they are smaller then the pair I have. The quality as far as viewing the 3D content is excellent.

This is an excellent TV. You can read a lot of positive reviews about the EX500-32 on Amazon that will give you sufficient detail about the Sony Bravia EX's. Start with those reviews and note the differences between the 500 and 700 are:
- Video Processing : BRAVIA Engine 3(tm) Technology:
Many of the LCD tv companies share the production of various parts, including the screen. One of the major differences between the brands is the software that drives it. The EX 700 has the Bravia Engine 3 driving it. The EX500 and lower have the Bravia Engine 2. The Sony rep told me that Sony makes 90+% of the digital cameras and equipment so they have the software advantage when it comes to interpreting those inputs to get the output (the tv). Take this for what it's worth coming from a rep, but it's something to consider when comparing TV brands. With the Bravia 3 engine you know you have the latest available.
- The EX700 has a motion sensor (Presence Sensor) that turns off the TV when nobody is in the room. I think this is important because heat can damage your tv. If you accidentally leave it on your risk of damage is lessened by the auto-off. Also, this will save some $ in energy bills.
- The EX700 has Motionflow 120Hz Technology for Smooth Motion, the EX 500 does also. The EX400 does not.

Philips 42PF7320A 42-Inch Widescreen Plasma HDTV Review

Bought this tv for $2400 compared to a panasonic hd for $3600 at the time. looked at circuit city to see how they compared but signal was not good in store. other philips models at best buy looked pretty good so i decided to give it a try. Was going to get the pany ED model for $2000 but when i saw the philips for 400 more could not pass it up.
got it home and wow!!! discovery HD had a coral reef show that will knock your socks off . Wife even said this was best thing we ever bought. great color plenty bright plenty of inputs even USB slide shows of jpgs' and plays mp3's off of thumb drive.
speakers even sound good enough for every day use but no fancy surround modes. TV even looks good on regular cable and stretches pics to fill screen automatically if you want. was kind of scared to get the phillips as most reviews on net go for pioneer or panasonic but for the price you will be happy.
some sites show this tv as black frame with silver speakers but mine came in all silver.

Philips 42PF7320A 42-Inch Widescreen Plasma HDTV Overview

Save space and enjoy a wonderfully vivid picture with the stylish, 42-inch Philips 42PF7320A widescreen plasma TV, a great choice for your full-featured entertainment center. It has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner for standard television broadcasts, and you can receive high-definition TV right out of the box with the optional, removable CableCARD, which picks up HD (ATSC) broadcasts from your digital cable provider (digital cable subscription required). This set includes a tabletop stand, but it's also wall-mountable with optional kit (VESA compatible). This plasma TV includes an anti-ageing circuit to help prevent screen burn-in and an anti-reflective coating on the screen.
This set uses Philips' exclusive Pixel Plus video processor to increase the number of lines and the number of pixels. The result is razor sharp pictures with incredible detail and dept, every time from any source.
The 42PF7320A has a 1024 x 768-pixel resolution, 160-degree viewing angle, a 1500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and a 10000:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) Other features include picture-in-picture display (via component and HDMI connections), auto volume leveler, adjustable color temperature and sharpness, sleep timer, and V-Chip parental controls.
The 3D comb filter separates brightness and color signals better in 3D domain to eliminate cross-color, cross-luminance and dot-crawl distortion. It performs field-by-field comparisons of the television image to accurately separate the color from the black-and-white information and remove both horizontally and vertically hanging dots, as well as dot crawl, resulting in a razor sharp image. This set also performs 3:2 pulldown detection and reversal, too--a handy feature for watching progressive-scan movie programs in their native 24-frame format. To adapt 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video, frames in the original movie must be duplicated; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this duplication by removing the redundant information to display a frame-accurate picture.
The Active Control function uniquely and intelligently optimizes picture quality by measuring and analyzing the incoming signal to automatically adjust picture quality settings. Active Control with Light Sensor uses a sensor to adjust the picture brightness depending on the room light conditions.
This TV has two built-in stereo speakers that produce 15 watts per channel (for 30 watts of total power), and can produce Dolby Digital virtual surround sound, emulating a 5.1-channel sound field from just two speakers. It also offers the following connections:

Tech Talk CableCARD -- The CableCARD system enables the "Plug-and-Play DTV" functionality as agreed between cable operators and consumer electronics manufacturers. It allows the decoding of encrypted or scrambled content delivered from the cable system. CableCARD functionality includes conditional access and copy protection. A CableCARD-enabled television without a CableCARD inserted receives high-definition standard TV broadcasts. When a CableCARD is inserted, the television receives high-value high-definition, cable programming.
HDMI -- HDMI makes an uncompressed digital RGB connection from the source to the screen. By eliminating conversion to an analog signal, it delivers an unblemished image. The non-degraded signal reduces flicker and leads to a clearer picture. HDMI intelligently communicates the highest output resolution with the source device. The HDMI input is fully backward compatible with DVI sources but includes digital audio. HDMI uses HDCP copy protection.

This little TV works perfect for any bedroom, which is where I have mine. It is black and glossy so yes you can see handprints but that is easily fixed! I have had this for a couple months now and it works like a charm. No dead pixels or anything. Overall sound is pretty good for a small television, more than what I was expecting at least. I bought VGA cable and 3.5mm audio cable so I could hook the laptop up to it and watch movies and it works perfectly!! Also got a cheap HDMI cable for the PS3 and it works as well with the television. Everything looks better in HD and 1080p. The remote kind of stinks since it is a little on the slow side but it will do. Loving the television and am glad I bought this one, I was not dissapointed at all.

My condo was built in 1880, so the bricks are a bit crumbly, so I didn't trust them to hold up my 46" LCD. So I found this thing which worked perfectly. Have had no problems with it.
The only weird thing about it is, there's enough play in the mount for the main pole, that it will actually tilt back from the weight of the TV. So i put 2 blocks of 2x8's on either side to support it on the wall.
Looks great in a loft for sure.

First: the included level sucks! I checked my first line with it against my real level, and it was WAY OFF. Go buy a decent level before attempting to mount this to a wall.
Second: No where in my research did I see that this mount was intended for concrete walls only. It's clearly spelled out as such on the instructions. That said, the lag bolts were exactly what I would have purchased to mount something like this to a wall stud, so I'm quite confident that they will hold the mount & TV up fine.
Third: The TV I mounted to it is a 42" LG 42LD450. It's outside the size rating of the mount, but at less than 30 pounds, and with a VESA 200 bolt pattern, it was well within its capabilities. That said, I would not attach a 65 pound TV to this mount unless no one would ever be underneath it. It would just scare me. That much weight at the end of such a long articulating arm would put a LOT of moment of inertia on the wall mount. I got 4 screws into a stud, and I'm not afraid it would fail...but 65# is a lot of weight to have 18" away from the wall.
Fourth: The TOS link cable shipped without any kind of protective sack - it was just tumbling around in the box. Being an optical cable, I can't imagine that was good for it, but I haven't tested it to see if it works or not.
Fifth, when you do mount your TV to the bracket, I found it easier to stand behind the TV and hold it up to the mount so you can see where the holes are lining up. That way, the person attaching the screws doesn't have to try to direct you where to move - you can see it. After failing 3 times to do it from the front, I tilted the bracket up to it's maximum then held the TV in place from behind. Worked like a champ.

I picked this set up a week ago and must say that
I'm extremely pleased considering the price I paid.
I hooked it up to my cable providers HD box using a
dirt cheap HDMI cable. The factory default settings
are very good with no obvious deficiencies.
If your concerned about this set being only 60Hz, don't.
I have watched basketball and football on this set
and have not experienced any lagging, blurring, etc.
Yes it only has 3 HDMI inputs, but for me it's plenty enough.
I use 1 for my HD box connection and another for my PS3.
I'm currently shopping for a new surround sound system
which will use my 3rd and final input.
Speaking of sound, granted it's not the best coming out of
the set, but its not as bad as some may make it out to be.
All in all, I have to rank this as the best deal on the market
for a 52" LCD set. I spent 3 months researching and comparing
prices before I decided on this one.

Sharp LC40E77UN 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV Review

For the money, let me just say, this is an amazing TV. The picture quality is fantastic. Color and contrast look great. The sound is pretty good too.
Channel-changing speed, a fingerprint-prone bezel, and a weak tuner are pretty ridiculous "cons" if you ask me. Personally, I didn't even notice the delay. And at most, it's still only a minor inconvenience. To the second con, the majority of HDTV bezels out there are shiny and it's not like you should need to touch the TV that often anyway. I think this model actually has one of the nicest looking bezels on the market with a champagne gradient finish on its lower portion. Tuner quality really shouldn't be a deciding factor when purchasing an HDTV, and surely not a dealbreaker. In my opinion, that's really letting a somewhat outdated technology determine a newer technology purchase. With a majority of people getting their signals from either cable or satellite, tuner quality is sort of non-issue.
Screen glare. Not an issue.
I bought this TV for HDMI content from both my computer and XBOX, as well as for HD programming. The 1080p and 120hz definitely deliver. FYI, I work with professional editors in my line of work. At one of the editing houses I commented how I had just gotten the newer version of one of their TVs. They told me that for their screens, they always go with Sharp because of the quality for the money.

White Precision Gear Universal Projector Mount (PRG-UNV-W) Review

I'm using this mount for a home theater setup in a multi-purpose room in the basement. I like the low profile of this mount because I didn't want the projector to hang too low from the 9 foot ceiling to where it would be an eye sore. Since it is white, it blends well against the white ceiling and with my mostly white Epson 6100UB projector. I was able to easily install the mount on the ceiling using the 2 supplied screws. Attaching the projector to the mount was also easy. It can tilt and roll vertically, but I was able to make some adjustments to the way the projector attaches on to the mount's spider legs to get a little horizontal shift. This combined with the projector's lens shift allowed me to place the mount off center on the available ceiling I-beam. The mount can also rotate and removing the projector from the mount for maintenance is easy.

The quality of the picture is stunning. However I have had the RCA Scenium 50" television for a little less than six months, and the cooling fan has become very noisy. From the moment that I turn the television on, until I turn it off, It makes a very irritable high pitch whirring noise. This noise can only be drowned out by increasing the volume to a mid to high level.
All fuctions work as promised, and the signal processor performs as promised. The on screen menu is easy to navigate. Making setup and fine tuning a cinch.

Peerless 23 - 46 Inches Security Tilt Wall Mount Review

I think many of us approach mounting our megabucks HDTVs to the wall, having visions of it coming crashing down. With so many models of wall bracket, which one do you choose? After some research I found the Peerless website to be helpful in finding the right model to safely hold my specific TV. I am familar with the Peerless brand and felt comfortable buying from them. When it arrived I was pretty surprised to see the small box it was in, I expected some big heavy-duty hunk of steel. This mount is phyically a lot smaller than some others I've seen, but it seems functional and after all, it only has one job which is to hold my TV safely on the wall. The instructions were good and it installed easily. It took about an hour mostly with me being careful to locate the exact center of the studs. Bottom line: it does what it should do. Amazon, as always, delivered sooner than expected and you can't beat the free shipping. My only complaint is the inflated retail price. No way is this mount worth over $200, a realistic price would have been about $25. I would have had to been insane to buy a mount at one of the local stores for $200 - $300.
