This bulb (lamp) cured the intermittent problem (set would not come on at times) we were having with the 1 year old bulb. Set has not failed to come on since install of this bulb; however, we have had to increase the set brightness level substantially, and the picture takes longer than expected to reach normal brightness level. Prior to install I inspected the housing and the bulb for manufacturer I.D., but found none other than a couple of UPC labels. Also noted the reflector portion had some imperfections, and is not as reflective as the old bulb. Suspect this may have an impact on brightness,and/or picture sharpness. Would have been helpful to know who manufactured this bulb and assembly. UPDATE! It is May 19, and after several days of declining brightness, the bulb exploded. Of course it is just past the 90 day warranty period. Too bad I can not give it zero stars! UPDATE! Replaced this bulb with a bulb only (no case) from Philips, and it is working great.
